We want to know what you are most grateful for in 2011...and as a thank you for sharing, we'll select a "winner" to send both the super soft gray circle scarf and the pretty necklace you see below. Can't wait to see your replies! Good luck :)

I spent Thanksgiving with a dear friend and her family this year so I figured I needed to step up my parent-and-grandparent-appropriate dinner attire. I wanted to be comfortable but clean cut, fashionable but classic. Ladies, for the love of all things holy and leather, have we learned the importance of "belt it!!" yet? This outfit was cute on its own, but as soon as I cinched the waist with my thin brown belt it really all came together. Both the collared shirt and sweater are from the Gap (a go-to for all things classic and staple), the jeans are Mavi and yep, those are my beloved Zodiac boots again. Even the mama bear host mentioned to her daughter, my friend, that I looked cute in my sweater :) Winner! The next day I needed to nurse my turkey hangover a bit so decided to adventure outdoors (thus avoiding Black Friday mayhem) and get some practice using my fancy schmancy camera (the results of which you can find here). It was a crisp fall day and I wasn't 100% sure where my adventures would take me, so I needed to be super comfy and snuggled. What better way to achieve both than with a knit circle scarf from Heritage Row, doubled up for extra snuggles? Can someone teach me how to knit one of these bad boys? I'd like one in every color! Please and thank you. Finally, I've noticed that my wardrobe is severely lacking blouses. I guess, admittedly, I've always been a tad afraid of them because I assumed they'd be uncomfortable in comparison to the basic cottons I tend to stick to. I also hated the idea of extra trips to the dry cleaners. Woof. BUT, I LOVE this Collective Concepts blouse Jenny picked for me from her shop (machine wash cold, hang to dry!); tucked in with a go-to brown belt, good fitting jeans, a simple gold necklace (that you can barely see, but it's shaped like a feather and is oh-so pretty) and duh, my Zodiacs, it was the perfect, effortless dinner look I was going for last week. Friends--I'm super stoked to announce that next week Heritage Row and The Grateful Life are teaming up for a contest in which the selected winner will receive some FREE Heritage Row swag!!! Tis the season of giving and we want to give to YOU. You won't wanna miss this chance. More details to come soon :)
Love and Light, Trish Last night was such a fun evening spent watching Jenny work her magic on the closet of my dear friend, Brooke. Cookie, as I like to call her, is ready for a wardrobe update--so naturally Jenny jumped at the chance to help her! Don't you just love when your friends from different areas of life synch up and become friends themselves? Oh man it's one of my favorite things ever. Drea and I happily tagged along to ooh and ahh and drink wine :) I apologize for the crappy iPhone pics; they don't do justice to how cute Brooke looked! Let's get to the creations, shall we?! Here Jenny took a simple purple dress (that Cookie had yet to even wear! Tags still on and everything!) and fitted it with a neutral gray belt from her bag of tricks. This combines two of Jenny's main fashion rules/tips: 1. Gray is a neutral. 2. Belt it! Then she added a fun sweater (also from her bag) and Brooke's great brown boots to finish off the look. Wine glass accessory is optional :) I love this look. Brooke admitted to not usually being a fan of patterns, but this blouse was practically made for her. Jenny pointed out that most of her current pieces were solids and that if she's really looking to update and give a bit of flair to her look, she'd need to give patterns a shot. Sometimes half the battle is just giving a new piece a try--it almost always looks different on a body than hanging on a rack. Pairing it with a great fitted leather jacket (a piece that Drea and I drooled over all night) and great fitting jeggings (both of which Brooke already owned) brought the whole thing together! I call this the Jennifer Aniston; effortlessly casual and cute. The only piece not from Brooke's closet is the belt, which is one of the many reasons I love Jenny as a stylist-- she truly works with what you already own! No sense in wasting money when you can mix and match and bring new eyes to a wardrobe you already have. Nice little photo bomb by the meatball, too :) Hot! And yet also appropriate for Brooke's lawyer gig! Again the only piece not from her closet is the ADA wrap belt, which I myself own 2 of and can attest to how much they've improved my outfits. A simple green dress is instantly more fun when it has detailing like the soft ruffles you see along the neckline. If you're not a huge fan of patterns, this is a pretty good compromise (according to Jenny...and I completely agree!). This was a really pretty, simple dress that just needed a little bit of big-girling to steer it away from a younger feel. Jenny added the awesome leather jacket and Cookie's sassy black boots and voila! No girlie girls here, just one hot mama. Phew! All the fabulous fashion wore us out :) Jenny and Brooke have plans for a shopping date both in Jenny's store and around town (another great thing about Jenny as a stylist--she would never only pull looks from her own shop)....I can't wait to see what they whip up together!
Love and Light, Trish I'm working at Heritage Row today as a favor to my fave gal pal, Jenny, and I'm rocking one of her newest pieces by BCBG: This shimmery skirt could not make me feel more like a Kardashian sister (holy curves)...and I love it!!
If you're in the neighborhood, come and say hi to me! :) Love and Light, Trish If there is one thing Jenny knows about me and fashion, it's that I would pretty much choose to live in Stevie Nicks attire every day if I could. So, this weekend she dressed me up in a few different hippie mama looks that were just to die for. I'd snagged a pair of awesome flare jeans a few weeks ago, so we started with pairing my Chinese Laundry clog heels and a few tops to them. I rocked these jeans in Portland last month and I couldn't resist sharing the following photo, first, of my friend's roomie and I posing before Karaoke. I think he out modeled me.... The romance of a beautifully made peasant top gets me every.single.time. Jenny is also well aware of my love for the Kardashian family and their incredible sense of style. I love getting texts from her that say "Just got in a great Kardashian top!". This guy is definitely a hippie version of something a Kardashian sister would rock. Thus, I loved it! This outfit was my favorite of the day. It reminded us of Priscilla Presley :) Jenny recommended trying this with a pair of my Zodiac boots, too, for more of a fall look. I'm horrible at taking outfits from season to season. Once the weather turns, I pretty much switch over to a completely different wardrobe, which big time limits my style and options. Luckily, Jenny is an ace at it! Take this lace maxi, for example. It's gorgeous but would be totally impractical to wear past summer months....or so I thought.... Thanks to Jenny's layering suggestion, this guy could totally be worn into the fall! I love how Rachel Zoe-esque this turned out :) I'm also pretty terrible at day-to-night looks. I hate feeling like I have to go home in between work and happy hour to freshen up and change. It cuts into my cocktails time! But Jenny's simple suggestion of a well fitted blazer (by Gap) and fun flats (Schutz Shoes) for day being removed and replaced by lace up oxfords (Chinese Laundry) was just the ticket this dress by Ladakh needed! Are you totally jealous of me having such a bad ass best friend stylist yet?
