This product post is mostly for the ladies. Sorry, gents. Gotta spread the girlie product love today...
1. Curly Girl Design. My bestie Aubs sent me an awesome magnetic Memo Board from Curly Girl Design...which I'm struggling to find a good image of, so you'll have to check out their site (my piece is under "Wall Decor", then "Memo Board") until I can go home and snap a quick photo...
The quote reads; "I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world"
Still debating on whether to use this fabulous decor for a new vision board (blog post to come on that subject), or a shrine to the best friend...maybe a vision board ABOUT the bf? She does love when I get super hokie...
2. Kerastase Elixir Ultime. My hair has pretty much been a rats nest for the last 10 years or so, ever since I first dyed it at a girlfriends house while bored on a Friday night. I've finally discovered the every day knotty-frizz-split ends cure all. The price isn't amazing ($50 a bottle, woof), but the results really are. One teeny tiny pump yields enough of the serum to run through your whole head...and helps every blow dry be much, much smoother and healthier. Since it's almost impossible not to blow dry my hair every day during the winter (wet head = frozen tricia) this is my saving grace of preventing major damage from all the heat, wear and tear.
3. Hunter Rain Wellies. Classic, practical and chic. Totally a favorite Christmas gift. Playing in the rain has never looked so cool...
4. Fitbit. Another great Christmas gift. This little guy clips to your belt during the day (I know I know, it looks kinda like a mini pager, sorta geeky) and to your wrist at night. From their site; "...all-day monitor that tracks calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled, time taken to fall asleep, and sleep quality. The data from the Fitbit Tracker is wirelessly uploaded to our web site, where users can view and interact with their data." Since moving to SF I've been fiercely curious as to how much I actually walk and have gotten such a kick out of seeing my step count at the end of the day. As of 12:55pm on this lovely Monday I've taken 4867 steps...not too shabby! I even find myself making mental excuses to walk just a tiny bit more, so as to up my end of day step count. It's like subconscious motivation to be more active...and I don't hate it. I'm also able to input everything I've eaten during the day to see what exactly my calorie intake vs. calories burned ratio is, among other things. I have yet to try out the sleep portion, but I'll let you know how that goes once I start logging the data! To be honest I don't care that it's probably a little dorky to be this excited over a step counter. It's such an easy way to monitor my health (their website is wicked simple to use/input info into) that I'm hoping I can stick with it to get some real results and insights into where I can improve my daily routines.
On a side note, I just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who has taken the time to reach out to me about this blog. Your kind words of encouragement have meant more to me than I could possibly begin to explain. Hearing from new and old friends has truly made this endeavor incredibly worthwhile and rewarding already. I LOVE hearing from you! Please always feel free to leave comments on the blog, too. Feedback is so important to me.
And since quite a few folks have asked me, yep, the poem in my grown up girl post was written by me :)
